Kadir van Lohuizen (The Netherlands, 1963) is a Dutch photographer and filmaker and has covered conflicts in Africa and elsewhere, but is probably best known for his long-term projects on the seven rivers of the world, the rising of the sea levels, the diamond industry, migration in the Americas, Wasteland, where he investigated (mis)management of waste in
six mega cities, Arctic, the new frontier and Food for Thought on the global food industry.
Kadir has received numerous prizes and awards in photojournalism. He is a co-founder of NOOR images.
In 2000 and 2002 Kadir was a jury member of the World Press Photo contest and was on the supervisory board of the World Press Photo foundation for eight years. Books have been ‘After us the deluge’ on the human consequences of the rising sea levels, ‘Diamond matters’, ‘Via Panam' and very recently ‘Food for thought’.
He directed and presented two television series. Kadir is a frequently asked keynote speaker and photography teacher and is based in Amsterdam.
